Castello d'Alba
In 1848, Joseph James Forrester drew the map of “The Portuguese Douro and Adjacent Country”. For his work, was distinguished with the noble title of Baron of Forrester by the King D. Fernando II, being the first foreigner to receive this honor in Portugal.
Still nowadays, this map is the most recognized cartography of the Alto Douro Wine Region, where is identified in the heart of the Douro Superior the point of the castle of reveille - Castello D'Alba.
