The Alto Douro Wine Region was the first appellation of the world, established in 1756, world known by the Port Wine.
In our region, the vines grow on terraces that follow the contour of the hills, supported by large walls of schist.
All this made the outstanding landscape of the Douro wine region be recognized as World Heritage.
