About Us

We established VDS in 1999, in the heart of the Douro Superior, borning from our passion for the wine, the people and the nature of our region.
We select grapes of the best soils, from schist alongside the Douro river to high altitude granite, where is our Quinta da Pedra Escrita in the municipality of Freixo de Numão.
It is with indigenous grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, fot the reds, or Códega Larinho, Rabigato and Viosinho for the whites, we show the personality and the uniqueness character of the "terroirs" of the Douro Superior.
We aim to combine ultimate winemaking techniques and traditional feet crushing. Our goal is to create wines with the best price / quality ratio, with worldwide recognition, with an international profile and the character of our land.
Each time you'll open a bottle of our wines, from the inedit and exclusive "Quinta da Pedra Escrita", the noble "Atalaya", through the traditional "Quinta da Cassa," the cosmopolitan "Quinta de Fafide" or the modern "Castello D'Alba" which has already become a classic of the Portuguese wines, you'll see reflected the passion we have for the Douro Superior.
